Brightcove Promotions
When working on Support TV, the Brightcove consumer team showed interest in some videos to promote features on the site. We ended up putting two together: one for Brightcove.com and one for the basic functionality of Aftermix (the Brightcove online video editing product).
The Brightcove.com video takes on the persona of a charity infomercial, modeled heavily after the everpresent Christian Children's Fund. The video urges you to feed your personal channel your video, or other video you want to &lquot;favorite&rquot; on the site. Because this video is placed on every Brightcove channel, unless deleted, and because of my dislike of social megasite myspace, I earned the nick name of Tom--against my will, of course.
The Aftermix video took a different approach. This video required an overview of the Aftermix product in about 60 seconds. If you've ever tried to summarize anything complex in 60 seconds, you understand what a complicated task this can be. So, with the lip of the [80's plug] micro machines man and some posterboard cut outs I put together a quick segment demonstrating how Aftermix allows you to take numerous audio and video elements, supplied by many different online and offline sources, and put together a little video project without leaving your web browser.
