One of my developer buddies called me up when he was making a bid for an overhaul of the Twin Cities Quorum site. His bid and my design were selected, so we had at it.

I didn't have a lot to go on with the site. It was kind of a shot in the dark. I knew they were looking for something more colorful and fun, yet still corporate. I decided to branch out a little and try something I wasn't used to at the time. It all worked out for the best.
While the site, itself, wasn't finished and live for quite awhile after I completed the designs, it was one of my first bigger jobs. I still hadn't been in a situation where I sat down with the client and made design changes with them. One of the most fun parts of the Quorum site was sitting down with the team in a coffee shop in downtown Minneapolis with a laptop and some ideas. I had the initial design, and we asked each other quests about how different things would look. I moved elements around, gave my opinion, listened to theirs, and within the hour we'd pretty much settled on where we wanted to go aesthetically. Visualizing a discussion is a lot of fun.
