The Donut Association of America was born out of boredom. My friend Ryan and I were driving around St. Paul, unsure of what to do, so we pulled into a parking lot. I began doing donuts. We realized there was a safety concern and no one doing a thing about it.

We drove to a larger parking lot and taped a public service announcement about donut safety. When we returned home, we recorded a series of phone calls, interviewing folks about their knowledge of both donuts in a car and donuts as a pastry.

We edited the PSA. We created a web site. We posted the PSA and interviews online, and thus the Donut Association of America was born.
