Writing is kind of like talking, and I really like to talk. I get that from my grandmother, who is notorious for those extended phone calls you try to avoid (sorry Grandma!). I also have an over-active imagination, which makes fiction a very useful outlet. Since paper (or a computer screen) will never tell you to shut up or tell you what to say, writing is a lot of fun for me.
